Ideation Sketch
Ideation unfolded in two stages: Stage one focused on finding a chair form that evokes security and relaxation, resembling embracing arms. Stage two developed mechanisms for full enclosure while maintaining flexibility for the user.
Privacy Lounge Unit
How can we design a lounge chair that not only provides privacy but also nurtures emotional well-being in both public and private settings? The goal was to create a space where users can truly unwind—free from distractions, wrapped in comfort, and immersed in a moment of calm.
Seremó is a privacy lounge unit designed as a personal retreat. Its high-back enclosure, integrated side table, soft reading light, and 360° rotation work seamlessly with an outer translucent casing to offer adjustable levels of privacy. More than just a chair, Seremó is a sanctuary—inviting you to slow down, recharge, and reconnect with yourself.

Reflection
The chair should create a secluded space, offering privacy in both public and private settings, shielding users from distractions and outside view.
Ergonomic design and thoughtful accessories should work together to enhance comfort and support.
The space should foster relaxation through its cozy form, calming colors, and minimalist design.
Competitor analysis reveals key pain points: overpowering colors, sterile feel, incomplete enclosure, and limited space to stretch—creating barriers to true relaxation.
Research shows that features like a reading light, side table, ergonomic lumbar support, and footrest all contribute to enhanced relaxation by promoting comfort and convenience.
Drawing inspiration from the comfort and security of a hug, the chair will be designed to embody the feeling of embracing arms.

The Seremó project was a journey into emotional design, exploring how products can support self-care and self-compassion.
I've always believed in the power of design to shape positive emotions and encourage healthier habits. With this project, I focused on more than just functionality and usability—I aimed to balance form and experience, creating a chair that offers privacy and relaxation while fostering a deeper connection with oneself in meaningful moments. This approach not only enriches the user's experience but also brings a deeper sense of fulfillment to me as a designer.
